There is a growing sentiment that Detroit already has an emergency financial manager---Detroit Mayor Dave Bing!
There are those who believe that Snyder and Bing are so synced that there is no need for Snyder to appoint an EMF.
Then, there's this softball pitched by Laura Berman:
Mike Duggin as EMF? Ed McNamara would roll in his grave...maybe.
All this EMF talk may be moot; a lawsuit was filed on Aprl 18, 2011 alleging the EMF law is unconstitutional. Some elected officials in Wane county are considering their own lawsuit. Benton Harbor was just the opening volley, some say the first guinea pig, in the roll out of the EMF law.
Does Detroit need an EMF? Well.....
